The first thing you’ll notice about this special Camembert-style goat cheese is its intoxicating aroma of mushroom, forest floor, nuts, and just a hint of goat authenticity. Cut through its thin, velvety, bloomy rind, through a layer of vegetable ash, to reveal its bright white interior. The flavour is subtle and complex at first – button mushroom, hazelnut, goat cream – but bites back with a tangy, lingering finish.
Crafted with pure Ontario goat milk, Nanny Noire is aged for four weeks in two environmentally distinct cellars. In the first, it develops its white fluffy exterior, and in the second, it develops the wonderful flavour and its distinct firm but creamy texture inside
PAIRING RECOMMENDATIONS
Pour a glass of sparkling wine, Hidden Bench Fumé Blanc or any VQA Sauvignon Blanc. It also pairs beautifully with a Saison or hard cider.
On a cheeseboard, serve with fruit compote, fig jam, prosciutto, sliced pear, and crostini.
